The deadline for submitting your abstract for the SEMA 2026 Congress is March 16th April 10th, 2026.
Please download here the template to prepare your abstract. Follow the instructions provided in the template and submit your abstract through our abstract submission form.
You can enter the form via the button below.
Authors will be notified of acceptance by April 24th, 2026, at the latest. The communication will be finally accepted only if the main author registers for the congress.
Oral presenters are requested to bring their presentation files on a flash drive (USB memory stick).
All presentations should meet commonly compatible format (PPT, PPTX, PDF).
Award to the Best Oral Presentation
This award recognizes the best oral communication delivered during the SEMA 2026 conference. The prize aims to encourage excellence in scientific research and effective scientific communication.
The award will be granted by the Conference Awards Committee based on a standardized evaluation rubric. Oral presentations will be assessed according to the following criteria:
- Scientific Quality: rigor of the methodology, clarity of objectives, coherence of results, and overall relevance and impact of the research.
- Presentation Skills: clarity and structure of the presentation, quality of visual support, time management, and ability to communicate ideas effectively and engagingly.
Each criterion is scored on a numerical scale, and the award will be given to the presentation achieving the highest total score.
SEMA is organizing a competition for speakers who want to present their doctoral thesis briefly. Those presenting an oral communication at the congress and working on their doctoral thesis or obtaining their doctorate a maximum of 2 years ago may participate with an extra presentation.
Interested candidates should check the corresponding option on the abstract submission form and indicate the title of their doctoral thesis. The Organising Committee will select the candidates from all the applications received, and each candidate will have 5 minutes to present an overview of their thesis work.

Summarize Your PhD Thesis Award
This award is presented to the doctoral student who delivers the best Thesis abstract in the “Summarize Your PhD Thesis” competition during the SEMA 2026 conference. The purpose of this award is to promote innovative, clear, and accessible communication of doctoral research to a broad scientific audience.
The evaluation will be carried out by the Conference Awards Committee using a dedicated rubric based on the following criteria:
- Originality and Creativity: ability to present the thesis in an original, memorable, and engaging way that enhances understanding.
- Presentation Skills: clarity of the message, logical structure, pacing, effectiveness in communicating complex ideas in an accessible manner, and adherence to the established time.
Scores from each criterion will be combined to determine the final ranking, and the award will be granted to the entry with the highest total score.
