SETAC Europe 24th Annual Meeting

Welcome!

Science across bridges, borders and boundaries

It gives us great pleasure to invite you to the SETAC Europe 24th Annual Meeting, which will be held in Basel, Switzerland, from 11-15 May 2014.

To benefit from technological innovation by securing sustainable solutions and responding to global change while protecting our environment, there is a need to build bridges, overcome borders and connect boundaries between science and policy. SETAC members strive to provide the knowledge base for advancing the protection of environmental resources, engaging in platforms for the exchange of inter- and trans-disciplinary ideas and approaches.

Therefore, in the true spirit of SETAC, this major international conference will be the bridge that brings together experts from academia, government and industry. The conference will focus on the most recent advances in environmental sciences and will provide a platform for how to implement this knowledge to improve environmental risk assessment and shape policies – from current viewpoints to future needs.

We warmly welcome you to Basel, the third largest city and cultural heart of Switzerland. Located on both sides of the Rhine at the Three Countries Corner of Switzerland, Germany and France, diverse cultures, a multifaceted history, and modern art and architecture all converge. Basel is renowned for its well preserved old town and world-class museums. Close by are tourist sites in the Swiss Alps, the Black Forest (DE) and the Alsace (FR) for you to explore.

You can be assured of a vibrant city life, great social events and a fantastic scientific programme at the Basel Congress Centre.

Welcome to Switzerland!
