EACR25: Join us in Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the European Association for Cancer Research
The 25th Biennial Congress of the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR25) celebrates the EACR’s 50th Anniversary Year. I am very pleased to invite you to take an active part in this landmark Congress from 30 June to 3 July 2018 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Since its foundation in 1968 the EACR has aimed to meet the needs of researchers from a wide variety of backgrounds at all stages of their careers. Fifty years later, with more than 10,000 members across the full spectrum of cancer research, we have designed the scientific programme of EACR25 to meet these same diverse needs, whilst also bringing researchers together.
The theme of the Congress is ‘From Fundamental Insight to Rational Cancer Treatment’, covering the journey of discovery and development ‘from bench to bedside’. The Congress will feature world-class speakers discussing the most innovative current research topics, including a special education track aimed at clinicians. As well as high-profile plenary sessions, the programme offers parallel symposia, allowing participants to build their own scientific programme according to their interests.
EACR25 participants will also benefit from plenty of chances to interact, discuss and reflect on the information presented. These include workshops for early-career researchers, dedicated networking sessions and social events, and the opportunity for participants to share their work through oral and poster presentations, including the new ‘poster spotlight’ sessions which highlight the most promising posters to a wider audience.
My home city of Amsterdam provides an ideal venue for the EACR Congress, being a centre of cancer research and innovation that also offers a rich local cultural experience and excellent transport links.
I hope that you will accept this invitation to be a part of this important 50th Anniversary Congress, to make new contacts and collaborations to support your own vital work, and be inspired by colleagues from around the world.
See you in Amsterdam!
